14 November 2012: Israel, Hamas, PA encounter the paradigm shift

Counter-attack in changing times.

Not all the news was good today, but some of it was heartening.  In response to days of rocket attacks by Hamas on Israel, and targeted attacks – with anti-tank missiles – on Israeli infantry patrols near the fence between Israel and, the IDF launched an operation on Wednesday 14 November to eliminate terrorists in Gaza and destroy weapons caches.  One of Operation Pillar of Defense’s first achievements was taking out multifarious Hamas terrorist Ahmed Jabari.

One more exciting use for Facebook: Soliciting hostage-taking *UPDATE*

Social media rising.

Saudi cleric Awad al-Qarni is known for faithfully reflecting the views of the Western left about the sins and deficiencies of the West (e.g., “Neo-cons” are Nazis, America was built on conscript labor, etc).  But even the Western left wouldn’t go here with him:  al-Qarni has posted on Facebook the promise of a $100,000 reward for any Palestinian who will take an Israeli soldier hostage.

Jesus, Early Palestinian

Jesus was Jew, silly.

Melanie Phillips (author of The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle over God, Truth and Power) writes in the UK Spectator about an article from the UK Guardian this week, describing Europe’s first Christian theme park. The park, to be built on the Spanish island of Mallorca, will “aim to emulate the success of Christian attractions in the US such as the Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida.”  The Guardian piece includes a photo of an actor playing Jesus at the Orlando theme park, with a lamb in his arms.
