Five ways in which Obama doesn’t represent the American people

We don’t agree with that.

It is obligatory to start this one out with the point that not everything on earth is Barack Obama’s fault.  Not everything is even the fault of the ideology he embraces.  The affairs of men are more complicated than that.  Obama, like every U.S. president, has to respond to a number of things that didn’t necessarily happen because of his policies, just as he has to shoulder the responsibility for things that have happened because of his policies.

The complexity of human affairs means, moreover, that it is simplistic to view such concepts as negotiating or using force in a single, all-purpose framework.  “Negotiating” isn’t always weak, nor is it always wise, benign, or the only “peaceful” course.  “Using force” can be stupid or smart, depending.  Sometimes it’s just the least atrocious option.  Other times, it’s the most atrocious, and not using force is still atrocious.  Life is like that. Are the American voters idiots?

In short, no.

I still say no, even after 2008, when it took very little effort to find out everything you needed to know about Barack Obama.  Steeped in ‘60s-era radicalism, a “community organizer,” and a close associate of everyone in the political-guilt shakedown industry in Chicago.  This guy was everything my leftist college professors thought of as a hero.

America: Her finest hour is yet to come

They gave us the chance. Now let’s take it.

Did they die in vain?

As America remembers her honored dead this Memorial Day weekend – those who died in uniform defending our great cause of liberty – many hearts are troubled about what we have come to.  The idea of liberty on which our nation was founded seems to hang in tatters.  The genius of our forefathers in giving us a government that was to be limited, constitutional, and federal appears all but extinguished.  The indispensable ingredient of liberty, an independent people of good character, seems at times to be disappearing into a sorrowful sunset.
