Readers, The Optimistic Conservative will be participating in a live bloggers panel on 10 May in Los Angeles. This promises to be a tremendous event featuring “Gateway Pundit” – Jim Hoft; “Sultan Knish” – Daniel Greenfield; Omri Ceren of Mere Rhetoric; and Rick Richman of Jewish Current Issues. The topic is the role of new media in challenging the ideological “gatekeeper” role of old media.
The panel will be presented at 7:00 PM, Monday 10 May 2010, at the following address:
Skirball Cultural Center
2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90049
The superb organization Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors is sponsoring this panel, along with One Jerusalem, the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and the San Fernando Valley Republican Club. There is a $12 fee, and registration in advance is recommended. Please call 818-704-0523 or visit http://cjhsla.org/spunout.php to register.
There is plenty of on-site parking.
The flyer for this event is copied below, or you can visit http://cjhsla.org/events.php. I hope readers who live in the LA area can attend; and don’t forget to introduce yourselves! I’m anxious to meet all of you.
Thanks to the wonderful Doris Wise Montrose, president of CJHSLA, for setting this up.

Congrats J.E. !
You must be very pleased and feeling honored.
I’ll be looking forward to your report on what happened.

Thanks, GB, I am indeed. I understand there will be video of the event afterward, so I’ll post a link to that when it’s available.

Would also be interested in the video. I read the Gateway Pundit daily. First Things is an interesting web site . I think it presents part of the complex people that American Catholics have become. The Roman Catholic Church internationally has many, long unresolved issues and as one of my close friends constantly says, the US is in flux and at the same time so is the Roman Catholic Church world wide. As another favorite of mine, Dennis Prager says, clarity is the most important part of dialogue. I think it’s great you’re part of that dialogue, Optimist.
